The "MUSH" in Pokemorph MUSH is a reference to the "MUD" in TinyMUD,
one of the first widely popular MUDs, or "Multi-User Dungeons". A MUSH
is a text-based multi-user environment with a persistent world, and
usually has a single cohesive setting and theme.
Most MUSHes emphasize player-player interactions: players on a MUSH
create characters representing inhabitants of a world--in our case
Pokemorph Island--and roleplay those characters with others.
While MUDs and MUSHes inspired modern-day MMORPGs, they are completely
text-based environments, and thus a certain amount of literacy in some
language--usually English--is needed to play them. Also be aware that
even though graphically-based worlds exist, the MU* community remains
alive and strong!
